This is my response to a comment on you tube by bigbinji6145 who claimed that the "third term of Obama was a disaster for real Americans"
These people are cultists, hermetically sealed from truth. The point isn't to convince them although those cultists who see such posts must be challenged because I presented verifiable facts from reliable mainstream sources, not far right conspiracy theorist alternative universe Breitbart or Facebook posts from fellow cult members. However, the real point is for those outside of the cult who see a cult member make a claim and read it decisively refuted.
@bigbinji6145 Circular reasoning - you defining "real Americans" as those who support Donald Trump and who found President Biden's term such solely because of their allegiance to Donald Trump.
The pandemic hit everywhere. So did inflation. That's because the pandemic caused inflation which is the judgment of nearly all economists. The only tool policymakers had at all to try to lower inflation was to get COVID under control. That task was made infinitely harder by Donald Trump because he minimized COVID and didn't promote the safety measures recommended by the CDC including wearing a mask or getting vaccinated. The simple fact is that the rate of inflation was lower in the United States than in most other G7 nations for most of the period from 2021 on. Inflation was 9.1%. IN JUNE OF 2022, LESS THAN A YEAR AND A HALF INTO THE TERM and was near the normal range just above two percent for the last year. 9.1% to between 2.1% and 2.6%. T
Every other metric was strong. The GDP grew by 2.3% in the fourth quarter hindered by talk of across the board tariffs and a trade war and by 2.8% in the third quarter and by 3% over the last 12 months. Wages have been growing faster than inflation for over a year. The unemployment rate was 6.3% when Donald Trump left office. It's now 4.2%. There were ten million jobs lost under Donald Trump in 2020 and three million jobs over his entire term. In contrast, under President Biden there were 16 million jobs created. There was a net loss of manufacturing jobs under Donald Trump, but 800,000 manufacturing jobs were created under President Biden.
Donald Trump took an economy whose unemployment rate had fallen by nearly six full percentage points and which has created jobs for 75 consecutive months under President Obama and turned it into an economy with an unemployment rate of 6.3% and a net loss of 3 million jobs overall. Donald Trump INHERITED a very good economy and ruined it by botching the COVID response. President Biden turned the mess left by Donald Trump into an economy with an unemployment rate of 4.2%, strong GDP growth, and an incredible 16 million jobs created.
The numbers above are facts. This isn't opinion. This is truth.
Getting angry at the incumbent administration when we have those statistics that tell us President Biden turned the disaster Trump left into 16 million jobs created and 4.2% unemployment rate while the pandemic driven inflation rate was lower here than in most G7 nations and fell by than 2/3 is as irrational as getting mad at the incumbent administration because it rained. It's that stupid.
