The Pro Democracy Pro Democratic Party Blog is dedicated to promoting the ideals of democracy and supporting the Democratic Party. We believe in the importance of civic engagement and the power of collective action to create a better future for all.
The Pro Democracy Movement includes a very diverse group of factions and disparate groups. Some are specific issue oriented like the Pro Choice movement or those who fight climate change and support the environment. Other members of the Pro Democracy movement include Never Trump Republicans, independents, and unfortunately, disaffected democrats. At this time, our party seems fractured; it's far from unified. Some of our Congressional Democrats are not reading the room or understanding what the Pro Democracy movement members including Democratic Party voters expect and demand from them. Some have disappointed us by confirming Donald Trump's disqualified nominees.
Nevertheless, while we must push Congressional Democrats to fight Donald Trump's fascism, we need to keep our perspective. Every Democrat in Congress is superior to any Trump supporting Republican. Virtually all elected Republicans support Donald Trump and there is no meaningful distinction among them. We must bear in mind that Donald Trump and his Republican Party and the oligarchs are our enemies, not Democratic Party leaders. The vast majority of our criticism should be directed at Donald Trump and his Republican Party and the oligarchs. A strong majority of our communication about the Democratic Party and Democrats in Congress and the leaders of the Democratic Party should be positive. We should not criticize the party as such. When it is necessary to criticize specific democrats, then we should make certain that criticism is constructive and makes clear that the democrat even with their flaws is far superior to any Trump republican.
This blog will criticize specific democrats when appropriate within the parameters laid out above. However, the vast majority of our posts will support the Democratic Party while condemning Donald Trump, his evil and his fascist actions and his fascism, and Trump's Republican Party and Trump supporting Republicans.
Attacking the Democratic Party as a party, whole and entire, is destructive. We need to improve the brand. Comments supporting Donald Trump, Donald Trump's Republican Party, Republicans in Congress who support Donald Trump, fascism inequality will be hidden. Comments with specific and constructive criticism that falls within the parameters laid out above are acceptable. However, the primary purpose of this blog is to provide a place for those of us in the Pro Democracy Movement who support the Democratic Party, Democrats in Congress, and Democratic Party leaders to express their thoughts and contribute to a blog. There are other websites where disaffected democrats and others who dislike the Democratic Party, Democrats in Congress, and Democratic Party leaders but who supposedly and theoretically are in the Pro Democracy Movement can blog. There are few other, if any, blogs for those in the Pro Democracy Movement who support the Democratic Party, Democrats in Congress, and Democratic Party leaders. This blog will fill a need that is nowhere else filled.
